UX/UI Designer

Salary up to £50k

Freedom working - Work from home up to 5 days per week

My client is an award winning company who requires a UX/UI Designer to join their team which is growing at an exciting rate. You will use your creativity and experience to work out how their users can achieve their goals, this will then enable the engineering team to deliver a fantastic user experience. You will be part of a highly technical innovative team building leading mobile-first SaaS platform on an AWS cloud-based microservice architecture, familiarity with this environment is invaluable!

You will get exposure to multiple projects across all stages and key stakeholders in the business, so it's vital that you are able to articulate yourself and communicate ideas with clarity. You will be involved in new products to the evolution and maintenance of existing features. You will be a key player in obtaining stakeholders needs, user research, data and metrics to create a persuasive story and design a user experience to delight our customers. This is a very exciting opportunity to be a key cog in the development of industry leading platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

* Providing UX design at all levels, from early stage conceptual sketches to detailed mock-ups or prototypes that will go on to form part of our evolving styleguide;

* Building strong relationships with the engineering team to help deliver best in-class solutions

* Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish and articulate the user needs to a high standard

* Keeping ahead of trends in important areas of usability including onboarding, accessibility and visual design, sharing those ideas and principles with the wider team;

* Using metrics, data and feedback to reach conclusions about the usability of current features and bring this back into the ongoing evolution of the user experience;

* Championing the best possible user experience passionately but respectfully at all times;

Requirements:

Must haves:

* Excellent communication skills, able to express UX and design to both business stakeholders and software engineers;

* Deep understanding of what constituents a great user experience, going far beyond the basics of visual page design and including the whole user journey;

* Proficiency with wireframing/prototyping tools such as Sketch, Balsamiq, Figma, etc.

* Be adaptable in a rapidly evolving environment;

* Excellent user research and requirements gathering skills

* Willingness to roll sleeves up and contribute in whatever way is needed to make sure the features you have designed reach and delight their audience;

* A clear understanding of agile software development projects and life-cycles;

* Ability to thrive in a cross-functional team on business critical projects

Desirables:

* Experience designing for highly scalable SaaS web applications;

* Experience of usability testing, A/B testing, etc;

* Experience with Jira, Asana, GitHub and Google Apps;
