Operations Processing Agent/ Payroll / Commercial Banking/ BACS / CHAPS / Salesforce/ Microsoft Office/ PERMANENT/ Birmingham/ £19k+

Purpose of the role:

To work as part of team to perform processing functions supporting the client company's operations accurately and efficiently within stated service levels ensuring positive customer outcomes. The job will cover all aspects of retail bank processing so a positive attitude to multi-tasking within the Operations department is required.

The Operations Processing Agent will have to liaise with customers, branch staff, customer services agents (call centre), finance, treasury, credit risk departments, Premier banking team and key suppliers.

Key responsibilities and tasks (but not limited to):

*Full understanding of the clearing cycle to process, Inward and Outward cheque clearing, including returned, account switched and unpaid items.

*Daily completion of work tasks with ID and V and KYC/KYB data provided on computer systems. Ensure the banks quality and risk control is maintained at all times.

*Report any suspicious account opening or account transactional behaviour to the Financial Crime Unit via the use of SAR's reports whilst ensuring full adherence to AML and SAR reporting requirements.

*To undertake the day to day processing of card related requests and complex queries from frontline customer facing staff (covering branches, premier and contact centre).

*Maintenance of accounts, including standing orders, Direct Debits, indemnity claims, cheque book monitoring and, card administration.

*Processing incoming and outward payments using the CHAPS, Faster Payments, BACS and, SWIFT systems.

*Continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, people reorganisation and the impact of new technology. This is achieved by ensuring that all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring and by addressing any areas of concern with line management and/or the appropriate department.

*Systems - understand commonly used systems within account services and document management processes i.e. Salesforce, EBS, Engage, EBA and, Data Store.

*Transfer of funds between customer accounts and taking the lead to investigate and resolve complex customer queries with follow up actions and tasks working closely with both frontline customer facing teams and finance.

*Dealing with queries from both customers and, other bank departments within stated service levels to provide exceptional customer service.

*Identifying process improvements within own department and across other departments

*Understand the importance of risk mitigation and risk reporting while suggesting potential improvements.

*Adheres to, and is able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls. This is achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and by the timely implementation of internal or external audit points and any issues raised by the external regulators.

Requirements:

- Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent

- Two years experience in a customer based processing environment within Financial-Services , retail banking desirable

- Familiarity with MS Office

- Industry Qualifications are an advantage

- Six months experience of using financial services back office systems
