Site Safety Practitioner - £32,000 - £36,000 + benefits - FTSE 100 Engineering Organisation

I am recruiting on behalf of a FTSE 100 Engineering Organization and market leader in providing engineering support to the MOD. We are currently looking for an experienced health and safety professional with a background in engineering to undertake a key role at Clyde Naval Base

Main Purpose of Role

* Conducting investigations

* Conducting risk assessment reviews

* Supporting the company in the operation of its Business Management System (BMS) (ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001) covering the effective management of health, safety and environment.

* Monitoring compliance through the development and implementation of an appropriate audit programme

* Undertaking internal / external audits; producing corrective actions as necessary where significant issues are identified

* Maintaining compliance with statutory, legislative and customer requirements.

* Providing specialist H&S knowledge and advice to business stakeholders.

Applicants will have:

* Minimum of Diploma in Health & Safety

* Comprehensive understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all delegated and quasi legislation

* Chartered membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health or working towards same

* Recognised auditing qualification, with previous experience of one or more of the following standards: OHSAS 18001, ISO 14000, ISO 9001

* Highly effective written and verbal communication skills; the role holder will be required to produce and present formal reports

* Excellent organisational and time management skills; able to manage multiple competing priorities

* Confident and assertive, with well-developed influencing skills

* Competent user of MS Office suite of software
