Safety Case Engineer - FTSE 100 organization, Competitive Salary, Market leading Training and Development with exceptional career progression.

I am recruiting a Safety Case Engineer on behalf of a FTSE 100 organisation. This particular role functions within their marine and technology division and is focused on a highly complex and long term nuclear submarine dismantling project.

The successful Safety Case Engineer will be responsible for providing and maintaining safety justification for the ongoing nuclear operations and activities on site. You will produce maintain and develop the safety management arrangements for achieving compliance under licence conditions.

Requirements

* Carrying out HAZOPS, FMEAs, Risk assessments etc.

* Providing responses to advice from IPR , NSC and regulating authorities on safety substantiation.

* Identification and classification of work with nuclear or radiological implications.

* Maintaining the safety justification for nuclear facilities and their operation.

* To provide advice to the Nuclear Safety Manager on the implementation and maintenance of safety cases and the implementation of Site Licence Conditions.

* Provide guidance and advice to support Safety Case Owners and Sub contractors on Safety Case, Site Licence.

* To represent nuclear safety department at Procedure Authorisation Group (PAG) and Nuclear Services Authorisation Group (NSAG) meetings.

* Monitor and report progress of safety case documentation through the approval process.

* Audit compliance with operating constraints and the general requirements of safety cases

* Provide support to the Emergency Planning Manager in providing and maintaining the emergency arrangements for the nuclear licensed site and where required, the wider estate with a view to deputising when fully trained.

* To present annual report on facility safety cases in conjunction with the Nuclear Safety Manager.

* To categorise LC 22 submissions in line with local procedural and regulator guidance.

* Set requirements, expectations for specialist contribution to safety cases.

* Advise on the safety assessment and substantiation of operations.

The successful Safety Case Engineer will be/have;

* ONC or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline.

* NIC or equivalent.

* Experience in the production and management of safety cases within the Nuclear Industry.

* To be able to understand and apply as necessary in the production of safety documents,

* risk assessment and criteria setting,

* reliability assessment,

* fault tree analysis,

* HAZOP studies,

* failure mode effects analysis,

* human reliability analysis and

* radiological consequence assessment.

* Knowledge of QA processes.
