DBA / Database Administrator - SQL Server

A rare opportunity has arisen for a skilled SQL Server DBA to join a boutique Capital Markets and Securities focused Investment Bank in London City.

This SQL Server DBA role has been newly created - the London office at present does not have a DBA, and is being supported by a Database Administrator in their US office. The new SQL Server DBA will work closely with the existing Administrator in the US, and act as a key member of London's infrastructure team.

As a SQL Server DBA, you will work on a mid-sized database estate, working with 40 servers and over 300 databases, which have over a terabyte of data running through them. You will be expected to carry out database migrations, database back-ups, installations, and replications. You will primarily work on SQL Server 2012, however part of your role will be upgrading older systems to this version (such as SQL Server 2005 and 2008). You will also get the opportunity to work on a number of SQL Server Database projects, with the opportunity to get involved with a large Greenfield SQL Server Data Warehouse Project in 2017.
