Salary - Up to £60,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented engineer to join a forward thinking, award winning company as their Power Electronic Converter Engineer, in their research and development centre, based close to Nottingham. The team is currently working on a project to design, develop and produce a power inverter for electric and hybrid vehicles. You will be required to convert DC to DC, from high to low voltage within a battery converters and bidirectional DC-DC power converter between two high voltage potentials.
The Role
*As their Power Converter Engineer you will aid in the development and product release of DC/DC converters for electric vehicles and/or hybrid electric vehicles (xEVs).
*You will work on developing converters including high voltage battery to 12V low voltage battery converters
*You will be involved in designing and producing bidirectional DC-DC power converter between two high voltage potentials.
Requirements
*Design and development experience for power converters.
*Experiences in the field of DC to DC power converters
*Hold a 2:1 of high in the field of Electronic Engineers or have equivalent experience. Ideally you would hold a PHD in Electronics Engineering.
*To have worked previously with high voltage, and have experience converting it to low voltage.
*The ability to think laterally and problem solve
*Power train design experience for Hybrid/Electric vehicles
*Liaise with other team members in relation to the design and development of the product.
