Premium Credit is the leading insurance premium finance company in the UK and Ireland. Due to ongoing expansion, we are now looking for a SQL Database Administrator to join our team.

As a SQL Database Administrator, you’ll ensure that Premium Credit’s database systems meet the needs of the business.

Working in an ITIL and Agile environment, you’ll support and administer our 24/7 production database systems, ensuring that any issues are resolved in a swift and efficient manner.

Specifically, your duties will involve:

- Performing root cause analysis of database issues and implementing tactical and strategic fixes

- Backup and recovery management

- Security management

- Installing and upgrading database systems

- Creating, establishing, documenting and maintaining procedures for managing systems

- Assisting with the development of technical architectures

- Helping to plan and review database designs and strategies

Interested? To be considered, you’ll need:

- At least five years’ experience of administering Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS database technologies

- At a minimum, three years’ proven production support experience

- Experience of administering highly available Always On and clustered configurations, as well standalone configurations

- Knowledge of related MS SQL technologies, including SSIS, SSRS and SSAS

- Knowledge of related supporting technologies such as Windows, Active Directory, storage and networking

- An understanding of the following technologies would also be an advantage: Cloud e.g. Azure, Powershell, virtualisation and IIS

The ideal SQL Database Administrator will also have experience of Oracle 10g/11g database RAC and single instance, but this is not essential.
