I am looking for a Front end Developer/Designer to work with my client based in North Ryde.
This is for an initial 6 month contract, likely to extend further for a leading media organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Design & development of highly scalable web applications
* Focused on front-end development using HTML, CSS & modern Java Script frameworks
* Integrating web applications with back-end systems by calling RESTful services
* Write testable code that includes unit test cases to ensure that the code is defect free
* Work as a member of self-managed and self-organizing Agile teams
* Focus on automation of build & deployment processes - promote DevOps culture
* Work closely with Testers to support functional and integration testing
* Analyse, research, and evaluate solutions against requirements and specifications
* Work closely with Product Owners to ensure that requirements are well understood and there is strong adherence to the design
* Actively participate and contribute in all Agile/Scrum ceremonies
* Proactively highlight risks/issues and track them to the closure by working closely with other team members
Experience and Capabilities
* 5+ years of strong experience as a full-stack front end developer
* Proficient understanding of HTML5, CSS3
* Experience with at least one CSS grid framework such as Bootstrap.
* Experience with developing responsive design websites
* roficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, jQuery, HandleBar, Backbone, Angular or React
* Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
* Familiar using LESS and SCSS
* Knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image.
* Photoshop is a mandatory. Experience using sketch and zeplin is a plus.
* Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
* Strong experience with RESTful web services integration
* Agile development experience
* Demonstrated experience of working as a self-managed independent developer in an Agile environment
* Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Proficient understanding of code versioning tools like GIT & SVN
* Experience with Java & J2ee will be a bonus
