IT Delivery Manager - Digital - Strategy - System Development - AEM - Supplier Management - Stakeholder Manager - Matrix Management

My client, a leading Insurance company is seeking a Delivery Manager to lead their IT Digital Services function. This is a key role and the successful candidate will have previous experience in understanding a company's current and future digital strategies and operations.

This role will work with the senior business leaders to focus on the use of technology to organize, automate, and transform elements of the insurance business and its operations. You will have the ability to motivate, inspire and manage a strong team both in the UK and offshore operating in a structured environment to deliver IT digital projects and solutions that support the business.

With a significant background in system development delivery with a proven track record within the digital area, it is also essential that you have recent and proven experience in creating roadmaps and delivering a portfolio of projects, together with excellent team leadership and management skills.

Main Responsibilities:

* Creation of a digital roadmap with key business and architect

* Creation of a delivery plan based on roadmaps

* Ensuring all deliverables are fit for purpose by employing effective quality management approaches

* Management of £mm budgets

* Progress reporting through agreed mechanisms to both internal customers and IT

* Actively engaging, understanding and contributing to the IT overarching architectural strategy ensuring you are working to agreed strategic methods, platforms and software

Skills & Experience:

* Background within a large blue chip organisation or one of the top consultancies to ensure the understanding of the dynamics, disciplines and processes of complex organisations

* Demonstrable experience of working in an IT portfolio delivery position managing £mm IT budgets

* Extensive experience of IT Digital delivery

* Excellent understanding and qualification in project management methodology

* Change management experience and the ability to work with process improvement methodology such as six sigma

* Strong IT understanding and experience in working in large IT departments with structured operating environments

* Experience of working with offshore delivery teams

* Proven experience of strategy alignment with the ability to think long term anticipating opportunities and threats

The successful IT Delivery Manager will ideally possess the following skills/experience:

* An understanding of general insurance would be a distinct advantage

* Awareness and or prior exposure to Adobe Experience Manager

* Practiced in initiating and maintaining effective working relationships with senior executives both within the business and IT

* Experience of working in a CMMI level 5 environment

* Previous experience in supplier management and contract negotiation
