Role Overview

A market-leading Consultancy is seeking to recruit an experienced Java Lead to join their development team, responsible for delivering bespoke applications to public sector clients.

During the course of their careers, candidates may have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects across our various clients, sectors and sites. However, this job will primarily be based in Edinburgh city-centre within a very vibrant and lively location.

Responsibilities will include

The successful candidate will be expected to provide a high level of software development skills, while also demonstrating the capability to lead the technical team. This will involve taking ownership for all technical aspects of project delivery and mentoring less experienced members of the team. The Lead Developer must have strong communication skills in order to work with the team and ensure that there is a clear, shared understanding of the end functionality required.

*Core Java development skills and understanding of Java design principles

*Desire to lead a team
