Senior Developer - HTML | CSS | JavaScript

Salary paying up to £90,000 + Benefits

Senior Developer required for a tier 1 bank working on some exciting Greenfield and existing projects in digital transformation.

If you have a passion for crafting user interfaces with the latest web technologies and techniques, then this role will be the perfect opportunity to showcase your skills.

This will be a challenging role streamlining user flows and implementing data visualizations across mobile and desktop platforms

The company has recently launched its next-generation trading application, and are looking for a developer to help shape its future. You'll be joining a small team that's passionate about UI, from the baseline grid and animation physics, to design patterns and performance tuning.

The ideal candidate will have a strong opinions tempered by real-world experience, and is dedicated to refining a feature until the elegance of the user experience matches that of the implementation. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, and testers to take a feature from high-level requirements, through iterations of exploratory prototypes, to a final solution that's delivered to thousands of customers around the world.

The Role

*Work with product managers, designers, and fellow developers to build features for the next-generation trading application, built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on mobile and desktop platforms.

*Develop and maintain the CSS framework, built with Less and object-oriented CSS techniques, and used across the company's web applications.

Required Skills

*3+ years' experience building web applications with expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

*Mastery of CSS, experience with CSS preprocessors (Less, Sass, Stylus, etc.) and object-oriented CSS principles.

*Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Backbone.js, AngularJS, React, etc.).

*Experience developing for multiple form factors (mobile/tablet/desktop) across multiple platforms (Win/OSX/iOS/Android).

*Familiarity with UI/UX concepts, with an eye for detail and innovation.

*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

*Prior business knowledge or willingness to learn quickly about the financial industry, specifically electronic trading.

Desirable Skills

*Experience working on large-scale MV* web applications with real-time data-driven interfaces and white-label customization.

*Experience with mobile and desktop web performance (e.g. critical path and runtime optimization).

*Knowledge of graphic design and typography principles.

*Experience creating graphical assets (e.g. icon fonts and sprite sheets).

*Experience with agile design and development practices.

*Active in the community through open source, conferences and social media.
