They are currently Ireland's largest indigenous pharmaceutical manufacturer and maintain the largest number of pharmaceutical licences of any company in Europe.

The company is now seeking a Senior Formulator to join our R&D team.

This is a key role in the research and development area reporting to the R&D Manager, ensuring high standards of R&D formulations at all times.

This includes the developing and scale-up of solid dosage and liquid dosage formulations for the European and global markets.

Essential Duties:

As a Senior Formulator you will be responsible for formulation development and all related project activities whilst developing commercially viable formulations and processes solid and liquid dosage forms. You will need to demonstrate initiative in the generation of ideas, experimental design and write reports with minimal consultation. Preparation skills will come into play when it comes to reports and technical data for regulatory submissions, batch documentation for GMP pilot batch manufacture and process validation. Complying with all aspects of cGMP, safety and environmental regulations and company policies. Working cross functionally with counterparts and management in other departments (Quality, manufacturing, and Regulatory) is essential along with providing clear communications to department head and management. You will be asked to perform other duties as assigned by R&D Manager.

Person specification:

The successful candidate must hold a minimum of a scientific Bachelor's degree (Chemistry / Pharmacy) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience. Along with the knowledge and proven experience in the development and formulation of oral solid dosage forms, semi-solid and liquid dosage form process development and scale up is essential for this role.
