Permanent Technical Architect - Sheffield - £40,000 - £50,000 Depending On Experience

My client provides traditional banking in the UK. They are currently in the process of building and launching a new type of digital personal account which creates a platform which is continuing to grow and develop. This role is based in the heard of Sheffield.

Responsibilities:

* Working closely with the CTO to define Technical strategy

* Align business plans to technical road maps

* Identify current and future training needs and proposing training programmes

* Identify and maintain the back log server configuration work to be undertaken

* Delegate the responsibility to assign work to the relevant lead

* Perform periodic scalability testing

* Identify improvements and alternative tools

* Define software architecture

Key skills and experience:

* Experience in designing and building high volume commercial web site and applications

* Previous exposure to working in a multi-channel environment, ie. Web, widgets, mobile apps (iPhone, Android)

* Experience of automated functional and non- functional testing, continuous integration systems and continuous deployment

* In depth understanding of SDLC methodologies particularly Agile SDLC's (including XP and Scrum)

* A good understanding of server infrastructure technologies, and understand the benefits and implications of alternative infrastructure technologies.
