A global, family run company, specialising in the aerospace industry, is looking for a Lead Hardware Engineer.

This is an exciting chance to build your own team within the new Safety Systems Centre in Bristol. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team on a new venture whilst being backed by a well-established and successful company. You will be a pivotal part in the full product lifecycle.

Salary: £55,000

About the role:

As a lead hardware engineer, you will be working alongside the Lead Systems, Embedded Software and Quality engineers, building and then heading up a new team within the Safety Systems Centre. With exciting and cutting edge projects/ proposals in place within the company, they are now looking for driven and ambitious engineers to take on this challenge of leading these projects forward.

You will be given the responsibility of managing the projects as well as facilitating your team and helping them to achieve long term goals.

Skills/experience with the following is required;

* Experience leading/ managing a team

* Experience working within safety critical environments (or similar) is essential (DOORS).

* Motor Control experience (Brushless ideally)

* Digital and Analogue

* ORCAD or similar

* An appreciation of microkernels

* Experience of taking a product through the full lifecycle (from research to manufacture)

Desirable skills:

* DO245

* IEC 61508 (or equivalent)

* Design and development of system test experience

* Production implementation

There is also an opportunity for a Principal Hardware Engineer position. The skills and experience needed are the same, although leadership experience is not required.
