Job Title: 1st & 2nd Line Support Engineer

Location: Preston, PR4

Salary: £17,000 - £20,000 D.O.E

Our Client, an expanding Lancashire based IT support and services company, some of the services they provide are:- cloud hosted services such as Office 365, managed services, network and server installations for SME's. They pride themselves in providing excellent customer service and on having an exceptional team who consistently deliver this service, daily.

They are currently looking to recruit an experienced 1st & 2nd Line Support Engineer to join our growing IT company based in Kirkham. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to grow and develop their career within this role.

About the Role:

As 1st & 2nd Line Support Engineer you will provide remote and on-site support to a wide range of clients, both small business' and corporates.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

* Operating the 1st & 2nd line support function on the helpdesk

* Ensuring all daily server monitoring checks are performed on time and that any issues arising are logged as jobs and actioned within SLA

* Ensuring all servers and monitored devices are correctly setup on the monitoring & management tools used in house

* Monitoring the unassigned job queue in the helpdesk & ensuring that tickets are assigned and dealt with according to their SLA & priority within the outstanding jobs list

* Identifying tickets which need escalating to one of your senior colleagues, reassign them and communicate fully with your colleague as to the details of the ticket and it's priority

* Performing any desktop, laptop or server repair tasks within the workshop that are required of you

* Attend client sites to rectify issues or perform installations

The Candidate:

The role will provide 1st and 2nd line technical problem solving and network management to resolve customer problems at their first point of contact wherever possible. You will be involved with the configuration and support of desktops, laptops, tablet computers & mobile devices, printers and servers.

Required skills and experience:

Essential:

* Experience of providing technical support at 1st & 2nd line or above in addition to working within a customer service environment is essential

* Windows 7, 8 & 10, Windows Server 2008/2012 and above support experience

* A working knowledge of Active Directory, Terminal Server and Exchange 2010 and above

* Knowledge of Office 365 services

* A good understanding of networking concepts

* Experience of supporting Routers, Firewalls, Backup services.

* Full clean drivers licence essential

Desirable:

* Any additional experience with Cisco, wireless networks, Data cabling, telephone systems, web design/web hosting would be beneficial

* A relevant industry certification would be an added advantage

Please be aware; due to the immediate start of this role, our client will not be providing any relocation packages or sponsorship for this role. Therefore you must reside within a 15 mile radius of Fylde Coast, Preston area and must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
