What are we looking for?

We’re looking for talented Data Engineers with a strong interest in new and emerging technologies. You have strong data modelling skills and confidence handling complex data, structured and unstructured; you are capable of quickly integrating data sources and feeds to empower rapid application development within an Agile environment.

What you will be doing

We are looking for a talented Data engineer to join Accenture’s centre for innovation. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team to design and engineer effective data components and integration scenarios. As a member of the Software Engineering team of the centre for Innovation, you will be responsible of the data-aspect of innovative concepts. You will be working on data analysis, transformation, modelling and integration visualization of complex data of various forms and from heterogeneous sources. You will demonstrate quick understanding of business concepts along with your ability to identify entities, relationships and ways to effectively model data with quality and performance in mind. You will be making justified recommendations on data modelling practices, tools and specific technologies to consider.

Your skills and qualifications

Required:

-BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or related field

-3+ years of experience in working with data-intensive software projects

-Deep understanding end experience of data storage technologies (RDBMS such as MySQL, -Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server; NoSQL e.g. Cassandra, MongoDB; Data Marts & Data Lakes)

-Experience in designing and engineering data transformation components with ETL tools

-Experience with data-intensive projects involving Big Data, analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence

-Programming/scripting languages: e.g. Java, Scala, Python, R

-Cloud services: e.g. AWS/Azure/Google Cloud/Openstack

-RESTful Web services and Micro services for data collection/access

-Experience with agile development (SCRUM, Kanban, etc.)

-Self-starter with an aptitude for learning new technologies

-Strong communication and presentation skills

-Experience with Linux/Unix

Preferred:

- Distributed Messaging: e.g. Kafka and Zookeeper

- Batch processing frameworks: e.g. Spark

- Real time processing frameworks: e.g. Spark Streaming, Storm, Flink
