I am currently looking to speak with Project Managers in relation to a 9 month contract role working on a manufacturing site in Norfolk.

At site there is currently a £multimillion project underway to upgrade part of the facility related to production processes and the supporting facilities/ infrastructure needed. The Project was funded early in 2016 and is progressing through detailed design via an external company.

The main purpose of this role will be to manage the facilities and infrastructure scope eg Solution Mixing, HVAC, Clean rooms, electrical systems (including DB/MCC and distribution), mechanical (piping), WFI storage and distribution systems, tie in to existing services (eg compressed air, LPHW, cooling tower, chillers etc). The scope under this role represents about £5M of the total project spend.

This role will be to complete the design (ie last 5 to 10%) with the chosen equipment suppliers and then manage the supplier through to site integration as part of the overall program. There is an existing multifunctional project team in place (ie 10 people) including Construction Manager, Project/ process Engineers, Validation, Manufacturing & Quality representatives. As the focus of the project moves to on site execution then the role will also include owning and managing the overall schedule (MS projects and Theory of constraints) to ensure timely progression of works vs plan with mitigation steps in place to address any issues etc.

Key responsibilities

* Finalise design and delivery of the infrastructure, facilities and utilities part of the project on time and to budget. This will include liaising with the detailed design engineering company, chosen suppliers to deliver the scope and with the relevant site customers that ultimately will own and manage the scope in everyday operations.

* Ensure system integration into existing or new.

* New system: For the Mixing system integration there is an element of managing the automation scope/ company to ensure the controls are fit for purpose when integrating WFI storage/ distribution, Mixing/ storage vessel, Venturi mixing system to ensure the right solution transfer to the filling line.

* Existing system: tie in to existing systems on site

* Schedule management of the site execution activities using MS projects. There is a detailed classical MS projects schedule that will need to be reviewed and managed accordingly for the site execution. There is also a Theory of Constraints (MS projects add on) master program schedule

* Cost control and budget management: ensure regular updating of scope owned by self to the programme manager

Key Skills needed for the role:

* Leadership and ownership of all scope/ tasks/ areas assigned to the role

* Accountability to drive closure of open items/ tasks to ensure timely progression, including gap analysis and resolution including mitigation plans as needed

* Collaboration with site project team, internal customers, stakeholders and external suppliers/ companies

* Schedule & Cost Management: experience of managing similar projects in a brownfield execution ie a plant that runs 24/5. Experience of managing in MS projects around 800+ tasks

* Technical Mastery and experience of managing facilities/ utilities infrastructure scope

* Understanding and applying GMP to projects and implementing corporate guidelines/ standards including Pharmaceutical background/ experience

* Autocad experience would be ideal for any review/ refinement of existing designs or site owned scope.

If you are currently seeking your next ontract role and wish to discuss, please apply for this roe and I will give you a call to talk through further..
