Brighton & Hove City Council is recruiting to a number of IT and digital roles.

Brighton & Hove is a vibrant, digitally innovative and connected city, at the heart of its city region and at the centre of a number of local and regional initiatives with public, private and 3rd sector partners, offering opportunities to engage with a variety of stakeholders and partners and really make a difference to people who live and work here.

The Council is well into a multi-year programme of organisational modernisation, including renewal of core IT platforms and infrastructure, digital innovation and many business change programmes and projects in which IT is a key partner. We are also establishing close ties with East Sussex County Council and Surrey County Council through the Orbis partnership, which provides professional and technical support services for its partner organisations.

This is an exciting time to join our team. We are an ambitious and forward looking IT department with skills in a range of enterprise technologies and digital delivery practices. Working in a fast paced environment, in the heart of the City and close to the seafront, these roles offer great opportunity for gaining substantial professional and technical experience.

Working within a team of Senior ICT Infrastructure Analysts the successful candidate will help to provide essential Project and BAU support of the organisation`s Cisco, Juniper and Checkpoint Network and Firewall estate.

The following skills would be advantageous to any applicant:

Wintel Server environments including Windows Server 2012, Active Directory, VMWare vSphere ESX5/6, Storage and Backup maintenance and support (Veeam and Commvault), Netscalers, Web Filters, Azure, Office 365.

You will be working in a secure environment with sensitive data, therefore a good understanding and experience of Data Security and Compliance is a prerequisite for this role.

In addition to meeting the above criteria we are seeking a professional who has a demonstrable employment background as a Senior Server Support Analyst within a large Enterprise environment. The individual will be a team player who is equally comfortable working on own initiative.

The role includes a requirement to work on an out of hours standby rota (paid) in addition to core hours

If you feel you are a good fit for one or more of the roles we are advertising, we want to hear from you. We do not accept CVs so please submit an application for each role you wish to be considered for. Please read the application pack carefully and ensure that your response addresses each point in the Person Specification, with examples.

As part of Brighton & Hove City Council’s ongoing commitment to redeployment, please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any stage of the recruitment process, without prior notice if a suitable redeployee (internal employee at risk of redundancy) is identified.
