The Role

Responsible to the Powertrain Engineering Manager, you will be part of a group developing electronic control unit designs for a range of products in the Powertrain portfolio. You will undertake ECU application design and development activities for market leading solutions in a dynamic, multi-project, multi-disciplined environment.

Key to the role is a strong understanding of electronic circuit design (including microcontrollers, and power electronics), processes and tools. The majority of the work will be related to design and development of analogue circuits to interface to the micro core, for example power switching circuits, analogue sensor decodes and switched mode power supplies.

What you'll do

* Electronic Circuit Design: Design and development of electronic circuit blocks, covering a wide range of analogue, digital and power technologies, for high volume, safety critical automotive control systems. Good understanding of electronic components and manufacturing assembly techniques and processes is essential

* Electronic Circuit Analysis: Tolerance analysis, worse case analysis and circuit simulation are key to the role

* Safety and Reliability Analysis: Performing block level and component level design FMEA, FTA, reliability analysis in support of ISO 26262/IEC61508 work packages and analysis

* Generation design documentation: Design descriptions, characterisation test reports and test specifications

What we are looking for

Essential:

* Experienced in detailed electronic circuit design, simulation, analysis and product validation in a high volume high reliability market

* Good knowledge of analogue interfaces, power switching circuits and switched mode power supply design

* Experienced in key safety analysis processes such as FMEA

* Excellent reporting and communication skills

* Competent in use of office productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
