Job Title: Graduate Software Developer

Location: Bishopsgate Court, London

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Main purpose of role

Graduate Software Developer will be responsible for delivering and maintaining high quality systems and APIs for our Client. This is an all-round role which involves active participation in various phases of SDLC, input on system design/architecture, co-ordinating with third parties/external developers.

The Company runs a large suite of internally developed systems/applications as well as web APIs, developed mainly using Microsoft technologies. Their internal systems assist the business to gain a competitive edge in the market. Our Client's Web APIs are consumed by mobile apps developed for some of the UK's biggest brands and by other third parties.

Responsibilities / Main Duties:

* Develop systems and applications to a very high standard of performance, maintainability and reliability.

* Ensure that systems are thoroughly and effectively tested and that testing is integral to the development approach.

* Maintain source code control for all internal systems and interfaces with other systems

* Maintain up-to-date documentation on all system developments

* Liaise with other areas of the business to determine any new requirements

* Analyse new business requirements and ensure they are properly documented

* Help plan and implement software releases schedule as necessary

* Keep up-to-date with the latest software development tools and practices.

* Strive to continuously improve practices, skills and strategy

Experience / Knowledge Required

Must Have:

* Ideally 1 year commercial experience in OO development and design using any one;

- C #

- C++/ Java (willing to cross-train to C #)

* Ideally 1 year commercial experience in RDBMS (e.g. MS SQL) design and development

* Ability to analyse, debug and modify existing code in terms of functionality and performance

* Ability to communicate effectively both inside and outside of the technical team

* Ability to quickly learn and adjust to new languages, technologies and processes

* Ability to deliver clear, concise, well-structured code that adheres to commercial standards

Advantageous:

* Android and/or iOS development exposure

* Knowledge of SOLID principles

* Knowledge of Microsoft's . Net platform

* knowledge of Visual Studio IDE

* Knowledge of version control solutions such as VSS, Git, etc.
