IT Project Manager (Infrastructure)

Globally renowned and award winning Financial Services company based in Central Birmingham is looking for a highly experienced and passionate IT Project Manager (Infrastructure) to join their IT team at their Midlands office.

The IT Project Manager (Infrastructure) will be working in the Platform Operations team that is responsible for the service operation of a variety of applications and managed services across the Group Technology Supply division.

The Project Manager will manage all critical projects across the platform. You will be responsible for managing critical migration projects, and will take an active role in the management of stake holders. You will also interface with clients and other infrastructure teams to co-ordinate and plan migration activities and play an active role in planning and execution of major projects. You will also be working with Product managers, Portfolio owners and vendors to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

*Creating and maintaining project plans

*Managing all of the associated risks, issues and dependencies

*Producing appropriate levels of management reporting to allow effective tracking and monitoring of progress

*Driving the project forward by utilising people and process effectively to ensure obstacles are overcome in a timely fashion

*Work with different Infrastructure team to resolve conflict

*Manage distributed teams and stakeholders who are not located in the same geographical area

*Excellent experience with MS Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

*Working closely with a wide range of clients from business areas throughout the Bank

Skills & Qualifications:

*Proven track record in delivering IT infrastructure Services and Projects

*Established experience as a technical project manager

*Prince 2 practitioner qualified or other industry recognised qualification

*Used to handling multiple projects simultaneously and handling conflicting priorities

*Accredited to at ITIL v3 foundation ideally as a minimum and other technical qualifications are desirable

*Planning and organization skills, experience of running 6-12 month long infrastructure projects with multi-disciplined resources across all IT technical components areas

*Support the Subject Matter experts in managing the Infrastructure Programme of work

*Excellent client-facing and interpersonal skills and good team player

*Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with relevant stake holders

*Basic knowledge on UNIX, Windows and Networking

*PaaS and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) knowledge

*Exposure to cloud technologies like Open shift, Azure

*Middleware knowledge around Java application servers (Weblogic, JBoss/Tomcat) would be an added advantage
