Senior SQL Developer - SSIS, ETL

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our Development team as a Senior SQL Developer taking responsibility for the movement and transformation of data between our applications, operational databases and the company data warehouse.

we have started work creating and rolling out a new enterprise data warehouse using Microsoft Azure SQL Data Warehouse and Data Factory and upgrading our BI suite. This role will be a key part of that transformation project.

The core areas of responsibility are;

Design, development, maintenance and testing of ETL interfaces for applications and the corporate data warehouse ensuring solutions adhere to agreed technical and operational standards.

Provision of 3rd line support for all SSIS based system integrations identifying the root cause of issues and identifying suitable solutions.

Monitoring and performance tuning of ETL processes.

Review and rewrite of existing Microsoft DTS packages to latest version of SSIS.

Work with Business Analysts, IT Managers and IT Development Manager to define and document the technical scope and objectives of projects and provide an estimate of the effort required.

Establish and ensure the continued use of standards and procedures for software development and documentation.

Who we are looking for:

Significant experience in the development of robust ETL solutions using Microsoft SSIS

Highly skilled at querying large databases, writing stored procedures and optimisation of ETL processes.

Experience of working with all versions of SQL from 2000 through to 2016 and ideally Azure SQL Database and Data Warehouse.

Deep understanding of Enterprise Data warehouse data models and dimensional modelling concepts, source to target mapping and Data Integration architecture

Excellent team working and communications skills to build up good working relationships with developers, business analysts and system managers across the business.
