JOB TITLE: Network Engineer

LOCATION: Central London

DURATION: 6 - 12 months contract (option to extend based on personal performance)

DAILY RATE: Competitive Rate (dependent on level of experience)

CONDITIONS: DV Clearance is required for this position prior to project commencement

Role Profile

We are currently recruiting for a talented and highly skilled Technical Lead Network Engineer to support our dynamic infrastructure environment across a number of sites with key tasks involving Data migration Level 2 design, ensuring that the migration work is on target against Test plans as well as provide assurance that the work is technical appropriate and in line with policies.

You will be playing a major role in establishing the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting and enforcing system standards.

You will also lead the design and implementation of new solutions and improve the resilience of the current environment.

Other key responsibilities will include:

* Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation;

* Undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources;

* Securing network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access; the support and administration of firewall environments in line with IT security policy;

* Reporting network operational status by gathering and prioritising information and managing projects;

* Upgrading data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases;

* Configuration of routing and switching equipment;

* Configuration of hosted IP services.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for bright and committed individuals with a strong technical background and possess the following skills, experience and attributes:

* Proven technical knowledge of IT networking - i.e. Level 2/3 Routing and Switching, etc.

* Proven technical knowledge of IT infrastructures - i.e. Authentication systems, Storage systems, etc.

* Proven knowledge of IT secure managed interfaces - i.e. Firewalls, Gateways, etc.

* Excellent understanding of IT services and security models;

* Excellent communication skills.
