Local Product Manager (Loans)/ 35-55k/ Nottingham/ Financial/ Loans

Key responsibilities:

The Product Manager has the key role managing and owning loan products' operational performance throughout the product lifecycle, end-to-end, from a local (country) perspective in order to deliver the desired customer outcomes whilst managing the risks associated with the provision of the product.

Responsibilities and tasks will include:

*Responsible (locally) for the operational performance of lending/ credit products in accordance with the client's central and local market strategies;

*Responsible for delivering the desired operational product and customer outcomes so that business lines remain sustainable and compliant with the client's policies and guidelines;

*Ensure the product complies with all local product regulation;

*Owner, locally, of the set-up of the product and all supporting documentation;

*Develop, monitor and maintain product KPIs (qualitative & quantitative) to optimise the performance of products;

*Be the product champion. Serve, support and collaborate with Business Line Managers to ensure products deliver to customers' and consumers' needs;

*Conduct annual product performance reviews for the local commercial committees;

*Own the product lifecycle & the product 'ecosystem' end-to-end;

*Maintain control over product specific costs in regards to suppliers owned by Operations & IT. Seek ways to increase the value derived from products both for the client and for customers;

*Together with Business Line Managers, manage the 'ideas funnel' to develop and improve the product in line with changing business, market and consumer needs. Provide a product development roadmap to IT Service Managers for each product;

*Validate that changes to products are as per requirements and approve product releases in to production systems;

*Be an active 'sparring partner' to Business Line Managers over product development needs and opportunities.

Reporting & People Management:

The Product Manager will be dedicated to a local Business Line Manager for reporting purposes but will manage lending products across all business lines.

There is currently no people management responsibility associated with this role. However the successful role-holder will be required to form collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels in the organisation, primarily in the UK but also overseas, and to provide leadership in regards to embedding ownership of product in the local organisation and embedding a continuous 'product improvement' culture.

Location & Structure

*The role is based in Nottingham and will report to the Head of Direct to Consumer (D2C);

*The Direct to Consumer team incudes Savings Product Management and Direct to Consumer Unsecured Loan product management;

*This role will focus on 'consumer finance' products typically sold through the Client's retailer partners at point of sale online or in store;

*Products will include fixed term unsecured interest bearing loans, interest free credit, deferred interest free credit, buy now pay later loans and revolving credit (Storecard) products;

*Whilst the focus of the role will be day-to-day product management in the local organisation (with a particular focus on working with Operations and IT to deliver good product governance to Business Line Managers) the Product Manager will also work from time-to-time with the centrally located Strategic Product Manager to align local products to the strategic direction of the Client.

Requirements:

*First class honours degree

*Banking or similar, recognised, finance industry post-graduate qualification+

*Detailed understanding of ICT systems, change and project management standards

*Process design and optimization qualification

*Highly numerate

*Documentary evidence of past working experience within the financial sector

*10 years' experience of working with financial services products and product management / governance

*Knowledge and experience dealing with IT vendors

*Managing internal stakeholders in a matrix - providing 'enabling' services to business owners

*Process design and optimization

*Vendor management
