Support Consultant

An opportunity has arisen to join a creative and fast moving software house within banking finance as a Support Consultant.

The Role

You the up and coming Support Consultant would be joining a fast growing global team. As a Support Consultant, you will be providing support to their products for their many clients. These clients include high-end investment banks and funds, and you will be speaking to stakeholders at many different levels within those companies. The Support Consultant role sits in a horizontal company structure and along with access to various stakeholders within their client base you will also have easy access within this organization as well.

This software house is looking for the Support Consultant to be a quick thinker and problem solver, encouraging creativity and a friendly approach. The team is close nit, and your day to day as a Support Consultant will be varied. There is a strong emphasis on quality, as you will be supporting turnkey solutions that are tailored to their client's needs all over the world in a follow the sun support environment. These products are a result of an agile environment and having had experience in working with agile sensibilities will be beneficial.

What they are looking for in a Support Consultant is previous experience within support, and being able to demonstrate drive, enthusiasm and discipline. As you will have access to various levels within the company, your communication and interpersonal skills will need to be top notch. From a technical standpoint, it would be advantageous to have experience within a Linux platform, Solaris, Sybase and experience with Java and/or .NET.

Key Skills:

Working within a Unix/Linux Environment

Experience with one type of development language (Java is an advantage)

Interpersonal skills are important, excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Experience within a Support role

Having had experience with other technologies such as Jira and FIX will be beneficial
