BI Team Lead/ Permanent/ Birmingham/ Analysis/Dashboards/Data models

Spring Technology is currently recruiting for a BI Team Lead to work with our client based in Birmingham. This is a permanent position looking for a candidate with broad BI development skills as well as a strong ability to analysis of data.

Responsibilities include

*Providing detailed functional & technical specifications identifying information sources and data transformation required

*Identification of data quality issues identifying the root cause of the problem.

*Anticipating risks & issues as well as mitigations.

*Scheduling and prioritisation of BI development work raising any resource issues with line manager.

*Present and agree the BI solution design with key business users/project sponsors as well as the Business Analysts and Development Manager.

*Design and develop BI solutions to meet business functional requirements.

*Carry out design and code reviews.

*Perform quality assurance system testing to ensure that the data sources provided to the business for reporting and analysis are of the best quality possible.

*Provide training on analytics tools and other BI solutions ensuring that they meet the requirements specification.

*Documentation of all project stages in accordance with the SDLC Methodology.

*Timely reporting of any delays along with impact and mitigations.

Essential skills and experience include:

*Experience building data models, dashboards and report

*Ability to troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues, prioritise workloads and provide some technical direction if required

*Is able to work without direction and use own initiative

*Is Able to coordinate and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner

*Analyses situations accurately

*Uses relevant data and information in a clear and coherent process to assess and understand issues, evaluate options, form accurate conclusions, and make decisions

*Is able to demonstrate the ability of resolving problems with lateral thinking

*Focus on results and desired outcomes and how best to achieve them

*Meets deadlines and can manage own time and plan accordingly

*Strong analytical skills

*Educated to degree level or equivalent

Desirable skills include

*Use of Azure SQL platform services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Data Warehouse and Power BI

*Understanding and experience of working in a retail environment

*Understanding of EPOS and logistics systems

*Experience of supervising and developing team members.

*Data mining and the application of statistical techniques to identify associations and patterns within data.

*Use of LINQ within Microsoft .NET

*Agile development methodologies such as SCRUM
