Project Accountant

The Role

The Project Accountant will be based with a leading financial services company in London on an initial contract length of 6 months. Although the initial contract is for 6 months, the contract has a very high potential to go long past the initial contract on offer. The initial day rate on offer is between £275-330/day. This role is within the Investment Appraisal & Management part of the department. The core purpose of this role is to provide financial analysis and support to the Group Finance investment portfolio. It will involve close working with originators of business cases and colleagues working in various governance bodies both within Finance and across the Group.

The responsibilities of the Project Accountant will be:

* Assisting Project Managers with the compilation of financials for project forecasting templates

* Working with Project Managers on month end activity to ensure accuracy with accrual calculations, journal postings and booking benefits

* Reviewing the ledger at month end to identify and correct mis-postings

* Month end variance analysis and commentary for Group Reporting purposes

* Producing regular MI on the allocation of all Finance investment funding and benefits tracking

* Completion of ad-hoc transactional queries

Skills / Experience:

* Partial or fully qualified accountant

* Experience in working as a Project Accountant or Finance Analyst in an investment reporting area

* Experience of month end accounting and processes

* Strong Excel and systems skills

* Experience with SAP and/or OFA
