Role: Project Manager - Controller and Systems
Location: Northwest Oxfordshire
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
Job Role:
To sequence and manage the motor power controller and system project tasks in Yarnton including the mechanical and production activities and ISO26262 functional safety. Interface with the Welshpool office firmware/software and power leads to support an integrated team. Provide support to the General Manager and interface with customers.
You're Role:
*Be the prime technical and project interface to key customers
*Generate realistic achievable project plans using MS Project and drive through to completion
*Motivate and drive internal teams, setting goals and direction
*Interface between mechanical, electrical and software teams in the development of motor controllers
*Support the execution of the functional safety (ISO26262) process, automotive SPICE and TS 16949
*Identify key project and product risk areas, track, and develop mitigating actions for team
*Ensure design and project best practices are followed, identifying any gaps and developing processes as the company grows
*Organise delivery of projects with cross functional teams
*Progress top level discussions with key suppliers on timing, costs, APQP, PPAP, and delivery requirements
*Work with sales team to realise technical opportunities with developing customers
*Provide updates to management on the state of projects, develop action plans to resolve issues
*Ensure development, procurement, assembly and delivery meet project timing
Essential Skills:
*A self-starter with energy and enthusiasm who can thrive in a small business environment
*5+ years experience of working in a relevant technical industry
*Experienced in managing customers both technically and commercially to ensure costs, delivery and quality are clear at all times
*Good awareness of best practice development processes, requirements and expectations
*Track record of successful project delivery
*Experienced in the use of MS Project and practical project/risk management techniques
*Demonstrated track record of engineering ability in an electrical or mechanical discipline
*Instinctive problem solving skills coupled with a sound analytical approach
*Ability to work under pressure while managing conflicting demands against tight deadlines
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills, practiced in negotiation and presentations
*Candidates must have UK driving license and ability to travel
