Systems Implementation Analyst
Buckfastleigh, Devon
c£35,000 DOE Plus Benefits
About our client
They’re mad about organic veg. It’s at the core of everything our client does. They love to grow it, pack it into boxes and deliver it to customers’ doorsteps around the UK. This takes a lot of brilliant people, with a range of skills and knowledge.
Our client began in 1986, with a few acres of veg, a wheelbarrow and a beaten up 2CV for deliveries. They’ve grown into a successful e-commerce business, with four farms, three packhouses, a fleet of vans and drivers, a wholesalers, butchery, organic restaurant and pub. They employ people across many areas including IT, Logistics, Sales, HR, Finance and Marketing (and more besides).
The culture and values set them apart from other businesses. Our client is a friendly, informal place to work, with a passionate, entrepreneurial spirit. They’re committed to providing a fair deal for growers, customers and staff.
What you’ll be doing
As the Systems Implementation Analyst, you will be at the centre of a wider-ranging evolution of our client’s business systems. You will be helping to define, spec and deliver the ambitious roadmap and architecture of production and finance systems which will enable our client to deliver ever improving products and experiences to customers.
A recent Pick by Light system has brought automation to our client’s production facilities and sets the benchmark for new systems and customer offerings to be delivered. You will be facilitating workshops, gathering and consolidating requirements then working with technical leads to deliver in-house solutions or configuring third party applications which bring new capabilities to the business. Projects are end-to-end, encompassing all of the above, followed by testing, documenting, training and facilitating the provisioning of ongoing support.
You’ll be passionate about scoping and delivering complex business systems and processes in a highly vertically integrated business. You will be comfortable suggesting and defending approaches and care about improving our client’s processes, approaches and technology. Most of all, you will want to work with like-minded and highly capable people to deliver fantastic ethical and delicious products powered by YOUR systems and infrastructure.
Our client is less concerned about specifics and decades of experience than they are about cultural fit and an ambition, and capability, to learn and develop your skills. If there is something on their list which is out of your comfort zone, that’s fine but expect our client, to expect you, to pick it up and run with it should you join them! That said, here are their ideal skills for this role:
- Requirements gathering - Most of what our client delivers is highly bespoke
- Business process analysis - Manufacturing, food production, finance
- Implementing business systems - Delivering solutions to the business
- Configuration - Complex workflows delivered through ERP-like systems
- Analytical - our client is a data driven organisation
- Latin plant names - Kidding…
- Best practice - configuration & integration testing
- Continuous deployment - Release early, release often
- Debug fundamentals - Things break, fixing them is important
- Agile / Scrum / Kanban/Waterfall - our client develops just-in-time to deliver value quickly, however some projects require more traditional approaches
- JIRA - our client communicates direction and progress through user-stories
You will have either a degree in a STEM subject or a similar capability through experience. You’ll be very capable of solving problems and communicating them to both technical and non-technical people. You will have solid experience in business systems, working with teams, focused around delivering functional implementations from internal and external providers. You will be comfortable working to define suitable processes where none exist but, most importantly, you will have made a difference in previous roles, contributed real value and helped to deliver high quality new features
Benefits
Our client provides a beautiful place to work, with lots of great people - and other benefits too. They offer 31 days’ holiday (including bank holidays), a generous company pension scheme and an annual profit share. They love food and hope you do too, so they give staff 25% off everything they sell on their website; heavily discounted organic breakfasts and lunches in the staff canteen; and free organic fruit and veg. There are also many social events for staff, with two big parties a year.
