IT Business Analyst - Insurer Team

Aldershot, Hampshire

Up to £50,000 (Dependent on Experience) + Excellent Benefits Package

Our client is a global provider of technology systems and solutions across the entire insurance industry. They provide core technology solutions, distribution and trading capability, advanced analytics and solution delivery.

Our client’s broking technology processes transactions worth over £5 billion gross written premium and their teams are responsible for developing and delivering some of the most cutting-edge software in the insurance market. By helping their customers to define their requirements, our client maps the journey and builds the solution.

Their team is growing, so they are looking for a talented Business Analyst to join their Business Consultancy Team, focused on their Insurance customers, based in their Aldershot office.

What being the IT Business Analyst will involve:

As an IT Business Analyst in the Insurer Team working closely with our client’s General Insurance customers, you will be responsible for gathering information and translating this into straightforward functional specifications, business and project documents. The role involves identifying solutions, looking for business opportunities, and also supporting customers during the implementation of specific applications or products.

You will use your experience of understanding and applying an application development methodology and contribute to the production of the deliverables required at different stages. With your experience of implementation and installation processes you will be developing, writing and executing system test scripts and participate in internal quality reviews. You will prepare system documentation and liaise with Development teams, providing input to project estimates.

Based from our client’s Aldershot offices, there will be travel across the UK with ad hoc requirements to undertake international travel.

What experience our client is looking for from you:

- Essential you have recent knowledge of the General Insurance industry i.e. general insurance (commercial and personal lines) together with its processes and procedures gained through direct experience.

- Proven BA experience: from business requirement gathering, delivering functional specifications, traceability through to involvement in implementation.

- Knowledge of SQL servers and/or other database systems

- Experience of working in both Agile and Waterfall environments.

- Practical working knowledge of at least one computer-based Insurance application.

- Previous consultancy / customer management experience is highly desirable

Have demonstrated a working knowledge of the following concepts/skills:

- Process Mapping (current and future state)

- Development of data flow diagrams (current and future state)

- Other UML techniques
