SQL Server DBA/Developer - AWS (Amazon Web Services)

Role: SQL DBA/Developer

Rate: £450-500 per day DOE

Length: 6 Months

Location: Central London

Industry: Financial

SQL Server DBA/Developer required for an initial 6 month contract based in central London with a financial services client. As part of a growing database team you will be responsible for supporting current projects migrating database instances to Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud and assisting in redesigning and re-tooling mission critical business support systems.

Further to the above, the busines will also be looking to upgrade current SQL Server databases to SQL2016.

Responsibilities:

You will be a SQL Server professional who can demonstrate technical excellence, expertise and mastery of the core components of SQL Server. Experience with AWS and MySQL is highly advantagous to the role as the project will have a strong focus around AWS.

Essential Skills:

* Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 and later (Ideally SQL 2014 and 2016).

* Solid experience of performance Tuning, Query Optimization, DMVs, Performance Monitor (PerfMon), SQL Profiler and traces.

* Extensive experience working on improving storage and index structures, managing concurrency, query optimisation and execution plans.

* SQL internals and database architecture and design.

* Strong T SQL programming.

Additonal Skills Required:

* MySQL, Aurora, Linux, AWS, Cloud

* NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB and Cassandra)

* Agile, DevOps, Git/Jenkins, Ansible
