About the role:

In this role you will work closely with business units to align technology projects with strategy, manage demand and resources, prioritise accordingly, and deliver projects in the portfolio following the Change Delivery Framework (CDF).

Key Responsibilities:

*Lead analysis and planning in support of 5-year planning, and annual budgeting, for the portfolio.

*Ensure the projects within the portfolio are delivered to time, budget, and quality, and deliver the identified benefits.

*Facilitate the creation and management of a high quality balanced portfolio: projects and investments aligned with business strategy, and an appropriate balance of projects (size, risk, and reward), with projects matched to resources available and capacity to implement.

*Periodically review, assess, and prioritise the portfolio in line with governance processes and organisational priorities (e.g. assessing return on investment, benefits and strategic alignment, capacity to deliver).

*Management of budget, resources, risks and dependencies, for both the team and projects (and across projects) within the portfolio. Provide senior management with analytics and insights to facilitate planning and decision making.

*Understand the relevant technology landscape and proactively identify synergies and commonalities across projects / programmes, and other portfolios and functions.

*Follow the relevant polices, frameworks, and protocols (including Group and business unit), and proactively improve processes and working practices.

*Lead trouble shooting / project recovery actions, and monitor project recovery success.

*Identify lessons learned in order to help prevent future issues. Perform assurance role on key projects.

*Select, develop, manage and motivate teams in order to deliver required outcomes. Build and develop the pipeline of talent in line with the Press's requirements for technical, professional, managerial and leadership capability.

About you (Essential):

*Experience of project management / PMO / planning / portfolio management in a complex Technology environment and /or business facing IT role - from business case / requirements through to implementation and go-live

*Experience in large global organisation using mix of in-sourced and out-sourced IT service providers

*Experience of leading, influencing, planning and decision making in a complex geographical/ functional matrix organization

*Proven ability to lead a portfolio of projects with annual development budget in range £3-5m

*Experience of leading agile delivery projects - SAFE agile framework or equivalent

Desirable:

*Degree educated or equivalent

*PRINCE2 or MSP accreditation

*Experience of leading Technology business engagement

*Commercial acumen and understanding of Technology architectures and assets

*Leadership of virtual, diverse teams

*Experience of deploying SAP ERP IT/systems
