JOB SUMMARY

My client is looking to hire an IT Systems Team Manager within IM&T department to manage the clients IT Systems Team. This role will report to the IT Operations Manager and be responsible for managing and leading a team of 5 Systems engineers. You will work alongside the Desktop Team Leader, Comms Team Leader and Support Desk manager to deliver a first class IT support function to the client.

The position will also work with the IT Operations Manager to identify and prioritise IT Operational projects ; plan, manage and deliver these projects whilst ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed and up to date on progress, milestones and estimated completion dates of these projects. This includes technically supervising any resources assigned and dedicated to the project as agreed with IT Operations Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and ambitious manager to drive improvements in the IT Systems Team while maintaining SLAs, OLAs and KPIs using ITL V3 principles. You will act as an escalation point for all technical issues and to take ownership of such issues through to resolution, working closely with team members. You will also participate in the change control process in order to ensure all changes are applied to production in a controlled manner.

The Role:

* At least 10 years of advanced level IT experience

* The following certifications are highly desirable:

* VMWare VCP or VCA

* Cisco CCNA, CCNP

* ITIL or Prince2

* MCSE or MCSA (Cloud Platform & Infrastructure) qualification

Knowledge & Experience:

* At least 5 years' experience in the similar role.

* Advanced knowledge of the following: W2008 R2, RHEL, Exchange 2010, office 365, Group Policy, PowerShell, IIS 7.5, Vmware vSphere 5.5, Azure cloud

* Understanding of potential security risks is essential.

* Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment, including SCSI, RAID, and I/O topology.

* Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools.

* Expert knowledge of various network protocols, firewall management, and operating system configuration.

* ITIL or Prince2 Knowledge

* Expert knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN or NAS, as well as Active Directory/Global Catalogue.

* Business process and reengineering experience, as well as an understanding of the relationship between processes and policies.

* Working experience in HealthCare is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

* You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Systems operations to ensure the effective, smooth, timely, efficient and secure functioning of the IT services

* You will design, plan, direct, coordinate and continuously improve the operational support services and ensures that these services meet or exceed agreed services levels

* Maintaining the highest level of customer support for the customer base through proactive management and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives

* Manage, mentor and carrying out regular skills gap analysis within the team to identify internal/ external training requirements, to help maximise their potential, and establish Personal Development Plans and Skill Plans for the team.

* Provide leadership to the Systems team by demonstrating good technical knowledge and management capabilities, and by maintaining a positive attitude at all times

* Drive change in a busy environment whilst maintaining business continuity

* Ensure successful delivery of IT projects through design, build, delivery and management

* Permanent member of the Change Advisory Board to ensure all changes are technically optimal and risk assessed correctly

* Manage the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all IT systems.

* Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with IT Operations Managers, other Team Managers, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities

* Documentation of all areas of technology, processes and procedures at both high and technical levels

* Creation of business cases for new projects and liaising internally to scope, gather requirements and develop project plans

* Fostering a continual improvement culture within the tea
