Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Manager at you will be responsible for leading complex multi-disciplinary projects, managing risk and commercial exposure whilst ensuring that all projects are completed to time, cost and quality requirements.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

1 Leading complex projects, with full responsibility for delivering on-time, on-budget and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction. This will include leading commercial management of projects

2 Baeing the senior customer interface for the project, establishing strong and effective customer relationships.

3 Ensuring projects are delivered in adherence with internal project management processes and procedures, including Product Development System.

4 Managing and monitoring project scope and leading customer negotiations on changes

5 Review and approval of proposal scope of work, timing plans, risk assessments and budgets; ensuring that proposals can be successfully delivered

6 Supporting development of internal project management capability by supporting and coaching more junior members of the project management teamDepending on the project worked on, the role will involve some travel.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

The ideal candidate will:

1 Have excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills

2 Have strong experience of leading complex development projects following product development / introduction processes (e.g. Ford GPDS)

3 Be commercially astute with a demonstrable track record of successfully negotiating scope changes with customers

4 Have proven stakeholder management skills with demonstrable experience of managing challenging commercial customer relationships

5 Have a professional project management background and be APM qualified (or the equivalent from another professional PM body e.g. PMI)

6 Be degree qualified, ideally in an engineering or related discipline; specific knowledge of software and, or, electronics would be valuable.

7 Have a natural desire to contribute to continuous improvement within the function
