IT Business Analyst - Insurer Team

Solihull, West Midlands

Up to £55,000 (dependent on experience) Plus Excellent Benefits Package

Our client’s team is growing, so they are looking for a talented IT Business Analyst to join their Business Consultancy Team, focused on their Insurance customers, based from their Solihull office.

What being the IT Business Analyst will involve:

As an IT Business Analyst in the Insurer Team, working closely with our client’s General Insurance customers, you will be responsible for gathering information and translating this into straightforward functional specifications, business and project documents. You’ll identify solutions to business issues and look for business opportunities, as well as supporting our client’s customer(s) during the implementation of a largely standard packaged application. These are key and main requirements of this role.

You will use your experience of understanding and applying an application development methodology and contribute to the production of the deliverables required at each stage of the project lifecycle. With your experience of client implementation and installation processes, you will be developing, writing and executing system test scripts and participate in internal quality reviews. You will prepare system documentation and liaise with Development teams, providing input to project estimates.

Based from our client’s Solihull offices, there will be travel across the UK with ad hoc requirements to undertake international travel.

What experience our client is looking for from you:

- Essential you have recent knowledge of the General Insurance industry i.e. general insurance (commercial and personal lines) together with its processes and procedures, gained through direct experience.

- Proven BA experience: from business requirement gathering, delivering functional specifications and traceability through to involvement in implementation.

- Knowledge of SQL servers and/or other database systems

- Have demonstrated a working knowledge of the following concepts/skills:

- Process Mapping (current and future state)

- Development of data flow diagrams (current and future state)

- Other UML techniques

- Experience of working in both Agile and Waterfall environments.

- Practical working knowledge of at least one computer-based Insurance application.

- Previous consultancy / customer management experience is highly desirable
