Whenever I speak to candidates I always tend to get the same complaint's about job ads...

* They just list a bunch of random technologies...

* They are just copy and pasted job descriptions...

* They don't tell me anything at all about the role or the company...

So with that feedback in mind, I thought I would attempt to revolutionise recruitment (on a very, very small scale) by explaining the following - Who? What? How?

WHO?

They are a Global Travel Management Organisation operating in the UK, US and wider parts of Europe. They are established as a niche provider of services to a wide customer base and operate a rewarding and collaborative company culture.

They are known for being an organisation that actually invests in technology (rather than hiding the development team in the basement) and are currently looking into a multitude of areas including Microservices architecture, PowerBI, Machine Learning and Cloud technology.

They are located in Central Manchester and offer modern and relaxed office environments with excellent commuter links.

WHAT?

What the role will consist of is actually a pretty long list, so here goes nothing...

This role is a 'hybrid' role in that it will involve a mix of hands on programming in C#.NET, discussions around various architecture patterns (Microservices, N-Tier) and mentoring/coaching of both Junior and Mid-Level Developers. You will be expected to act as a subject matter expert for all things software development and will be expected to both drive coding standards (SOLID, DRY) and also lead by example with your own work.

The role itself won't involve direct line management as you will be working alongside the Development Team Lead but there is an opportunity to either progress down the management route (i.e. Development Manager) or the technical route (i.e. Lead Architect) depending on your specific preference.

The role will involve exposure to a mix of both greenfield product development (Azure, Web API, C#, MVC) and the maintenance of their larger legacy systems (WPF, Web Forms). There will be an opportunity to offer your own thoughts on the technological direction and you will play a crucial role in their technical strategy moving forward.

Ultimately, this role can progress down the technical route (Architecture) or down the management route (Development Manager, Project Manager) and that decision will be completely based on your own goals and motivations - in other words, you actually have some say in your progression.

HOW?

How will this role benefit you? - well that is simple.

You will benefit by joining an organisation with genuine and tailored career development opportunities. Their current Head of IT started life as a Developer and that opportunity is only limited by your own wants and needs - simply put, if you are an ambitious person then this is the perfect company for you.

Moreover, they offer a competitive base salary (£60,000-£70,000) alongside 25 days holiday, private healthcare and flexible working hours.

So... if you have got to this part of the job ad and are thinking 'this role sounds pretty interesting', then why not get in touch to learn some more?

You can call me on either 0191 338 7540 or 07943721308. Alternatively, if you are unable to chat then send me an email to [email protected].

Anything discussed will be kept completely confidential.

**Please note that this organisation does not sponsor work visas so all applicants must be fully eligible to work in the UK.**
