PURPOSE

The ICT project manager drives and manages the delivery of medium to large scale transformation projects and deliver on-time, value for money outcomes.

Our client is undergoing a significant change in the way its IT services are delivered. This role is pivotal in leading a number of projects that will be completed during the lifecycle of this transformation. The post holder will be required to understand the various complexities and interdependencies of the overall program to ensure that their projects can be delivered on-time/on-budget without major disruption to other projects or business as usual.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-to-day tasks will include:

* Identifying stakeholder requirements

* Ensure that impact and risk to the business is minimised

* Working out and agreeing timescales, budgets and quality targets across a number of internal and external suppliers

* Using project management tools to plan and resource projects

* Co-ordinating the project team, keeping stakeholders and managers informed of progress

* Solving problems as they arise and adjusting plans

* Development of project artefacts e.g. plans, board papers, user communications

* Ensuring a smooth change plan is planned and executed in line with ICT change and release procedures

* Confirming satisfaction before signing off and evaluating completed tasks

PERSON SPECIFICATION

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

* Excellent organisational and leadership skills

* The ability to understand complex information and explain it to others

* Good understanding of the IT service lifecycle, in particular the change / release process

* Practical experience of delivering projects using the Agile methodology

* ITIL Foundation certificate preferred

* 2+ years' experience of hands on IT project management, experience of working with multiple suppliers preferred
