Big Data Developer to be based in London on an 24 Month contract. Experienced Big Data Developer with experience in Hadoop with a deep understanding of Object-Oriented design and extensive experience in Java, Big Data technologies.

Job Title - Big Data Developer

Location - London (Croydon)

Rate - £ Market Rates per day

Duration - 24 Months

* New transformational programme for a UK customer focusing on Big Data and advanced visualization capabilities

* Agile mode of working with teams co-located in London

* These roles has a high visibility at management level. A sound technology expertise at architecture front within Big Data technology landscape and ability to articulate and influence leadership stakeholders are pre-requisites. Besides, a core technical expertise and hand-on experience in Java 8, Hbase, Samza and related big data technology elements are a must to have.

* SC Clearance or being eligible for SC clearance or CTC clearance.

Responsibilities

* Representing Client as a Big Data expert, the associate needs to demonstrate the Client value to clients, prospects and partners to establish trust, win confidence, and drive more business.

* Bring Big Data expertise to the table and provide architectural inputs and implementation cycles.

* Look at the big picture and provide best practice architecture design and deployment options.

* Work as a team with other leads and developers, owning and contributing in deliverables and guide/lead the team towards success.

Essential Skills

* Strong technical experience as a Big Data Developer using Java 8 / Kafka / HBase in AWS ecosystem

* Strong experience of distributed and No SQL databases

* Core Technical Skill set: Java 8, HBase, Kafka followed by a streaming component such as Samza/Spark and REST API development skills

* Technical hands on development resources to assist client with their experience.

* Should identify areas where processes and standards could be improved and help implement any changes

* Should have experience working in Agile environment

* Ability to clearly articulate both the technology and business pros and cons of various technologies, platforms, and architectural options

* To be able to document use cases, solutions and recommendations

* Should have experience working directly with line of business stakeholders

* Excellent communication, 'can do' attitude and a team player and influencing relationship to manage client and business.

* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to read and write complex technical specifications
