2.Objective

2.1.Provide technical advice & support on system hardware aspects (including Develop installation procedures and standards for hardware components of assigned systems.

2.2.Schedule and perform routine installations and de-installations of hardware equipment, firmware and/or software, ensuring that targets are met within established safety, security and quality procedures, including, where appropriate, handover to client.

2.3.Supervise the technical aspects of the implementation, integration and testing of new or replaced hardware in AirC2 PO&S products and systems as required.

2.4.Perform trouble-shooting and correct malfunctions, in close coordination with experienced colleagues and external resources if required.

2.5.Evaluate new or changed system requirements from a hardware impact perspective.

2.6.Support feasibility studies for major system changes by providing hardware related expertise, such as prototyping and hardware platform assessment.

2.7.Conduct tests of hardware and/or software using supplied test procedures and diagnostic tools.

2.8.Prepare the yearly obsolescence management plan, perform hardware obsolescence management analysis and create hardware Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) if required.

2.9.Maintain hardware related artefacts such as Hardware Requirements, Hardware Architecture, Interface and Design Specifications, Hardware User Manuals, As-Build drawings and other technical documents, using specialized methods and tools in accordance with quality standards and procedures.

2.10.Manage and maintain tools dedicated to hardware documentation;

2.11.Maintain track record of changes to hardware and software so that configuration management records can be updated;

2.12.Performing other related duties, as directed.

3.Qualifications

The consultancy support for this work requires a configuration management engineer with the following qualifications:

3.1.Master of Science (MSc) degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a technical subject with substantial Information Technology (IT) content and 5 years post-related experience.

3.2.Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a technical subject with substantial Information Technology (IT) content and 7 years post related experience.

3.3.Exceptionally, the lack of a university/college degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency; that is, extensive and progressive expertise in the duties related to the function of the post or progressive managerial experience in fields directly related to the function of the post.

3.4.Experience in network technologies, perfereably supported by Industry Certifications.

3.5.Knowledge of and relevant experience in the following areas of expertise:

3.6.Secure computing hardware architectures, analysis, design, LAN/WAN and network;

3.7.Voice Communication Systems;

3.8.Hardware and network support concepts, debugging, fault analysis and preventative maintenance;

3.9.System integration, performance, security and testing.

3.10.Hold Cosmic Top Secret Clearance
