Spring Technology are working with a large public sector organisation based in Edinburgh, looking for an Information Security Technical Analyst to start on a 12 month contract starting as soon as possible. The client are looking to put the successful candidate through BPSS clearance, you must be eligible to go through this process to be successful.

This position has been confirmed as falling outside of IR35 regulations.

The Role

The Information Security Analyst will sit within the Security function which is responsible for ensuring the clients compliance with HM Government's Security Policy. Additional frameworks supporting information security within the client include guidance from HM Government's National Cyber Security Centre as well as an Information Security Management System implemented through ISO27001.

Skills and experience required

* Security monitoring

* Intrusion Prevention and Detection

* Protocol Analysis

* Firewall Management

* Incident Response

Candidates must also have experience in a minimum of 3 of the following areas:

* Knowledge and experience conducting forensic analysis to identify indicators of compromise.

* Experience with network analysis tools and the ability to conduct packet capture analysis.

* Excellent understanding of network principles (TCP/IP, DNS etc) and Internet Protocols (HTTP, SMTP etc)

* Knowledge of IPS, IDS, hacking and penetration testing techniques.

* Experience with scripting languages (Python, PHP, Perl, Bash etc)

* Experience with log file reviews, data correlation and analysis.
