Assurance Systems Specialist

£41,000 + benefits

I am recruiting on behalf of a FTSE 100 Engineering Organization and a true market leader within engineering support services. This particular role functions within their nuclear division providing critical engineering support to various clients and the MOD

Provide management of HS&E management system arrangements, business wide HS&E arrangements such as HSE legislation and information on-line subscriptions, COSHH management arrangements etc. Provide the lead on reporting of environmental matters and the lead for the environmental coordinators and business wide environmental improvements.

Main Purpose of Role

* Update management system arrangements for Health, safety and environment to keep in line with legislative changes, good practice and lessons learned.

* Work with LFE to ensure MS arrangements are understood and implemented by the business

* Work with the HS&E BPRs to identify systems required by the Business Directors to support HS&E in their areas and then implement these systems

* Identify systems that would benefit the business as a whole and work with the business to agree the need and introduce the system to the business

* Management of British Standards for the Assurance team

* Manage company wide HS&E arrangements such as Sypol, WEEE compliance, Corporate eye care scheme, Appointed positions etc.

* Manage the overall arrangements for successful implementation of such arrangements

* Provide routine reporting on environmental matters, including identifying and monitoring KPIs, monitoring of permits, overview of waste transfer arrangements etc.

Role Qualifications & Requirements

Academic Requirements:

1 Level 3 accredited Health & Safety Qualification e.g.

2 BSC Level Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health

3 NVQ Level 3 Health and Safety at Work

4 NEBOSH General Certificate

5 IEMA Certificate

6 Tech IOSH (registered on CPD scheme)

Experience of:

* HSE experience preferably gained within the nuclear or other highly regulated industry

* HSE knowledge of relevant regulations

* Communications

* Knowledge and application of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and environmental permitting arrangements
