I am recruiting a Safe Work Package Planner on behalf of a FTSE 100 Organisation and leading engineering partner that undertakes critical engineering work worldwide. This role functions within the Rail Division, providing engineering support to Network Rail nationwide.

The successful Safe Work Package Planner will support the Project Manager in the production and issue of safe system of work packs in accordance with company/client procedures, rules, regulations and safety legislation requirements. You will be office based and you will use your local knowledge to produce safe work plans across Wales, Weston and Wessex within the Network Rail agreed timescales.

Main purpose of role:

* Liaise with VGC to ensure that site inspections prior to unloading LWR go ahead as planned by securing appropriate track access on the agreed dates. Re-plan site inspections when required.

* Submit line blockage requests to Network Rail via their Green Zone Planning system as required (training/checking would be provided for up to 6 months if necessary).

* Attend pre-agreed line blockage conference calls as necessary to secure track access in these areas.

* Input data to the Track Access Change Register and produce 4 weekly reports for the Programme/Commercial Manager.

* Attend Monday review meetings in order to provide informed advice on pending line blockages.

* Represent the company in a professional and constructive manner to clients.

* Participate in the regional Safety Briefing Programme.

* Assist with Train /OTM Planning.

* input requirements on Network Rail Online Logistics system (Training will be provided).

Ideal requirements:

* In depth knowledge of control of site safety (COSS).

* Knowledge of access planning software applications, principally PPS/NROL.

* Extensive knowledge of operational railway and associated safety procedures.
