The Candidate:

The successful candidate will lead the identification, design, bid and implementation of engine and powertrain test cell projects across the automotive, rail, marine and aviation sectors. Responsibilities are focused on client relationship management, business development, and project delivery and require a high level of engineering and/or software knowledge specific to the engine testing sector.

Key Accountabilities:

* Responsible for developing long-term client relationships based on the ability to identify and deliver projects meeting client goals. This position takes a leadership role in the execution of all aspects of assigned projects including resources to execute on delivery.

* Understanding the national test cell market, trends and drivers, keeping in touch with existing and prospective clients to identify forthcoming opportunities for the business to pursue.

* Developing and leading the strategy for new engagements with current, past and prospective clients, in person, by telephone, via social media, trade shows, and specific media or events

* Maintaining strong long-term client relationships, identifying opportunities for revenue growth in line with the business strategy to expand test cell engineering services.

* Having identified an opportunity working with colleagues to design a solution, present a financial proposal to the client with a detailed engineering specification attempting to secure the business

* Providing strategic and operational direction for the delivery and execution of secured programs.

* Overseeing and providing leadership and guidance for all aspects of project delivery.

* Setting up and managing project teams to meet program/project financial performance metrics.

* Ensuring resources to execute and deliver on projects are in place to meet the clients need

* Tracking program/project delivery performance through meetings with the Company's project delivery team and through consistent meetings with various client representatives to ensure accurate performance feedback on a timely basis.

* Identifying, communicating, and managing program/project risks that jeopardize achieving program/project financial performance metrics.

* Managing project finance / P&L with control over income, expenditure and profitability

* Monitor project performance and delivery ensuring timescale and quality is achieved

* Looking forward and identifying other opportunities from within each project, expanding the project scope or time, or developing new ideas from within the client environment to support revenue generation and business development

Person Specification:

Essential

* Project / Programme Management experience

* Knowledge of the test cell, software, hardware, engineering sector / Engine testing knowledge within the automotive, rail, or engineering sectors

* Experience using own initiative and taking personal responsibility for decisions taken

* Experience managing project budgets, and working with project finance

* Experience working internationally, across geographies and cultures

* Experience running engineering based projects within a complex environment

* Good communication and interpersonal skills

* Able to build trust, respect and maintain confidentiality

* Able to prepare and deliver presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint

* Understanding of IT systems and process knowledge

* High level of ability with Excel and other Microsoft packages

* Ability to define and apply processes in a commercial and contractual sense

* Comprehensive commercial understanding

* Knowledge of business and sector drivers relevant to engine testing

* Able to present a high degree of professionalism at internal and external meetings

* Willingness to stay away overnight as and when required

* Willing to travel in the UK and overseas

* Project management or related qualifications

* Full clean driving licence for use in the UK

Desirable

* Industry background aligned to working with engine manufacturers, test cell operators, manufacturers and software providers

* Degree level qualification
