I am recruiting for one of Huxley Engineering's key manufacturing client in Cornwall that have an urgent requirement for a Supplier Quality Engineer on a contract basis.

Huxley have met the client on multiple occasions and have a number of contractors on site that report of a great working relationship.

Start date: Immediately to 4 weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

* To carry out external supplier audits.

* To organise on site screening and / or rework by the Supplier or sub contract agency.

* Respond to quality problems on supplier parts.

* Ensure suitable and prompt corrective action using 8D C.A.R processes.

* To clarify method of disposal for defective goods from the Supplier.

* To approve new or modified parts.

* Measure supplier performance using Pareto, Dppm, and FPY.

* Develop metrics and reports to ensure maximum supplier performance.

* Dealing with non-conformance and complaints.

* Supplier training.

* Process claims against suppliers.

* Provide Internal Quality assurance support to other departments when not auditing suppliers externally.

Skills and Attributes required for this role:

* A Mechanical Engineering qualification.

* ISO9001 accreditation desirable. In the absence of this accreditation previous ISO9001 experience will be considered.

* Experience of APQP and PPAP essential.

* Knowledge of FMEA, 5Y 8D and quality investigations.

* Exposure to lean methodologies.

* Use of AS400 MRP database desirable.

* Excellent communicator.

* Assertive.

* Methodical and thorough with an excellent attention to detail.
