Huxley Engineering and a Global Engineering Company who provide of Specialist Capital Machinery, Automation & Cryogenic Solutions for multiple markets including Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical & Semi-Conductors are looking to recruit a Project Engineer on a permanent basis for their offices in the Manchester area.

Reporting into a Systems Engineering Manager, the role of the Project Engineer is to work with the customer and internal stakeholders to define and implement complex Electro-Mechanical Systems / Capital Equipment, determining systems specifications, input / output processes and working parameters.

As the engineering lead for a project, the Project Engineer will coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total system and provides updates to stakeholders on engineering status (performance, quality, schedule milestones, risks, engineering project costs and product costs).

Requirements for Project Engineer role:

* BEng or HND in Engineering Discipline (Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering etc)

* Previous experience in a Project Engineer / Applications Engineering / Systems Engineer / Design Engineer capacity in the following environment: Automated Equipment, Robotics, Capital Equipment / Capital Machinery, Electro-Mechanical Equipment

* Experience in leading cross-functional engineering teams in the development of complex electromechanical systems.

* Experience with using Design for Six Sigma and Design for Reliability tools is a strong plus

* Experience of successful project & systems delivery in a client facing environment

* Experience of delivering multiple multi-Phase projects with circa 12-18month cycle time on projects.

* Ability to travel globally for Acceptance Testing & Commissioning on client site (Circa 1 week every 2 months).

This Project Engineer role requires an Engineer who can take:

* System-wide responsibility on complex business components or complex projects

* Exercises significant latitude in determining methods and objectives of assignment.

* Can contribute to the development of new concepts, theories and principles.

* Work on multifaceted problems that always require new and creative thinking.

* Acts in a leadership role as a principal customer contact and/or interface with Senior Company Management.
