The Company

My Client is the world's oldest national broadcasting organisation and the largest in the world within this space, they have established themselves as an unrivalled front runner in pioneering technology in the broadcasting sector and offer the use of state of the art equipment and resources for successful candidates.

The Role

My Client is looking for an experienced and specialist Software Developer in JavaScript and NodeJs, to work in their offices in Media City, Manchester. This project involves providing different audiences' access to my Client's online tools, working specifically within their education division. The focus is to open up their content and services to partners, which will be a long-term, business-critical project, where the aim will be to ultimately create a completely new platform that will be rolled out nationwide to their end users.

Essential Skills

* Very strong JavaScript and NodeJS experience on digital/e-commerce/ application projects.

* Experience working in an Agile/ Kanban/ CI and/or TDD environments.

* Strong experience with CSS(3), NodeJS, AWS and JSON.

* Desirable skills include Ruby on Rails.

** NOTE: The manager is seeking a candidate must be flexible in their approach as this project is quite new, the requirements may be ever changing.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate should be able to carry out and demonstrate:

* Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.

* Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.

* Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.

* Improves operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.

* Obtains and licenses software by obtaining required information from vendors; recommending purchases; testing and approving products.

* Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

* Protects operations by keeping information confidential.

* Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.

* Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

* Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
