Enterprise Architect (Customer Relationships & Marketing)

My client based in London requires an Enterprise Architect (Customer Relationships & Marketing)

Role Description / Job Purpose:

To own the Architectural strategy and technology roadmap and capability for a major set of pan- functions/capabilities, where there is a significant degree of complexity and a significant business change agenda. Work holistically, considering the relationships between processes, applications, information and technology, to ensure the IT capability supports the strategic objectives of my client as a whole and that solutions are optimized.

Deliver greater efficiencies and improve the quality of the services the Strategy and Architecture function provides by providing a joined up service that maximizes the capability and drives cost efficiency through the use of technology.

Key Accountabilities

- Enterprise architecture

- Define a compelling architecture vision for a set of key capabilities/functions and influence the organization to adopt it

- Develop and evolve the Enterprise Architecture and associated technology roadmaps for a set of key capabilities/functions - balancing the needs of each of the divisions and promoting solutions and -

opportunities for cost savings

- Manage the lifecycle of the domain technology, ensuring the technology meets the needs of the business stakeholders, adheres to appropriate architectural and technology standards and represents good value for the business.

- Identify solutions and technologies for decommissioning and create a roadmap plan for this, aligned to the overall technology roadmap for the domain

- Responsible for the creation and ongoing development of reference architecture, aligned to the overarching reference model'

- Understand business strategies and priorities working with business and IT stakeholders to analyze technology implications of business decisions

- Define and communicate solution options to address identified business challenges and opportunities

- Optimization of information management approaches through an understanding of evolving business needs and technology capabilities

- Support the definition and scoping technology programs and projects to achieve the technology roadmap, ensuring no duplication of functionality/capability

- Lead architectural involvement in pre-project activities and through the lifecycle of projects; representing the Strategy and Architecture function and identifying the relevant architectural skills needed to deliver solutions

- Oversee the delivery of solutions, providing architectural assurance throughout the project lifecycle

- Lead the definition, scoping and assurance of technology programs and projects to achieve the technology roadmap and realize opportunities for productivity gains and cost savings

- Identify benefits and costs of change and develop compelling business cases

- Lead architects of different disciplines to define architectures and solutions

- Adapt to changing needs for enterprise architecture and solution architecture as agile working gets adopted, including collaborating with teams ensure architectural integrity and consistency across different agile streams as well as adopting new tools and approaches

Team leadership

- Assess demand for architectural work within business capabilities/functions and identify the resource implications of this. Work with the Strategy & Architecture leaders to secure the right level of resourcing for the team

- Lead, manage and motivate teams of architects

- Provide line management for architects understanding their individual career aspirations and coaching them to support their career development

- Task manage a team of architects, identifying the key activities and deliverables required and managing individuals to deliver these

Architectural leadership

- Support the development of Enterprise Architecture standards, policies and ways of working for the Strategy and Architecture function

- Monitor emerging technologies and assess their suitability for the business

- Provide Architectural SME input into major business change initiatives

- Lead relationships with 3rd parties and suppliers; developing ongoing relationships to maximize the value they deliver to the Partnership, and ensuring the businessis undertaking business on the best possible commercial terms

Nature and Scope

- Adopt a consultative and facilitative approach

- Facilitate discussions between business teams and IT teams to reach consensus on the IT approaches and solutions to business challenges or opportunities

- Demonstrate advanced communication skills, with an ability to convey highly complex technology and business concepts to business and IT stakeholders

- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior business stakeholders from relevant functions

Influence business stakeholders to comply with IT standards and procedures to maximize the value of IT activity and assets

- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with IT teams

- Maintain strong relationships with Partners and suppliers, undertaking procurement, service management activities and service quality assurance

- Seek to develop relationships with other 3rd parties and industry bodies to enhance the reputation and capability of the Strategy & Architecture team

- Demonstrate advanced business awareness, appropriately considering business performance and commercial considerations in all decisions

- Take a lead role in the Strategy & Architecture function

- Represent Strategy & Architecture in key IT forums

- Understand and consistently represent the role and impact of IT in the contribute to the formulation of IT strategy

- Define and apply architectural standards and practices

- Ensure relevant governance procedures are in place and continually develop improved procedures

- Manage the performance of the domain architecture team

- Ensure appropriate information is shared to enable effective decision making

- Be aware of the financial management of the Strategy and Architecture function, managing performance against budget and supporting financial planning

- Manage and deliver architectural work

- Ensure appropriate architect involvement in IT initiatives and projects

- Develop a broad understanding of the firm's strategy, capabilities and key technologies

- Ensure holistic approaches to the design and selection of solutions, using the knowledge of architects and relevant business stakeholders

- Manage teams of architects, including Partners and 3rd parties

- Manage the performance of team members, addressing poor performance and supporting individuals to maximize performance

- Support Partners in establishing personal objectives and development plans

- Manage relevant personnel processes including communications

- Establish team/project objectives and delegate responsibilities, being accountable for the actions and decisions taken by those individuals

- Consistently perform highly complex work activities including financial, quality and technically skilled aspect

- Develop and encourage imaginative solutions and ways of approaching situations

- Have a high degree of self-motivation

- Continually seek out opportunities for continued professional development and to share knowledge with colleagues

Knowledge

- Knowledge of relevant industry architecture frameworks and standards (egTOGAF)

- Knowledge of the business, for which the enterprise architecture is being developed.

- Knowledge of financial modelling as it pertains to IT investment

- Knowledge of IT governance and operation
