Business Data Analyst (Insurance) - London - 6 month contract

Business Data Analyst (Insurance) required to join a multinational insurance company based in London on a 6 month contract.

The Role:

* You will be responsible for coordinating/executing on data management roadmap, enforcing data quality best practices and actively communicating data quality initiatives and updates to all levels of management.

* The position requires strong business and analytical skills to facilitate data quality monitoring & measuring, root cause analysis, logical design, testing, reporting and requirement gathering.

* You will be required to support the ongoing data quality initiative, monitor data quality results, coordinate and perform data remediation across all in scope applications within the department, coordinate and define data definitions (Metadata) across critical data elements.

Skills

* Experience in documenting data flows, data profiling and data quality management.

* Knowledge of insurance business processes and insurance data model

* Relational Database Proficient in SQL. Experience with Oracle, DB2, Sybase is desirable.

* Experience with additional data handling tools (e.g. IBM Information analyser, Informatica, Zaloni, etc.)

Responsibilities:

* Liaise with internal clients to fully understand and prioritise data content needs, assist in remediation of data quality issues and manage the data quality expectations of key stakeholders

* Establish key relationships with various data quality stakeholders including Operations, Finance, Regulatory, Control and Audit

* Assess effectiveness of data quality improvement efforts within the department to achieve overall control objectives surrounding data quality and data analysis related to various reports such as regulatory and compliance reporting

* Responsible for sourcing data required for regular and ad-hoc data quality assessments

* Responsible for performing data profiling and development of customised data quality rules based on business requirements to measure the quality of the critical data elements

* Assist in the management of data quality, monitoring, measurement and reporting activities to introduce industry best practices while increasing the trustworthiness of the client's data
