Contract Design Engineer - Inventor - 6 Months - Surrey

Huxley Engineering are currently looking for a contract Mechanical Design Engineer to work for an SME client based in Surrey.

The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:

* Highly proficient in the use of Autodesk Inventor and the Autodesk Product Design Suite 2013 for the development of 2D and 3D drawing and solid

* Concept design experience, including generating 2D/3D details and assemblies, bills of materials, drawing library management.

* Experience of working in an ISO9001:2008 Company, and of maintaining the QA controls and procedures required under such an accreditation.

* Experience and familiarity with control systems (electro-mechanical), electrical/electronic symbols and wiring diagrams.

* Experience and familiarity with the basics of structural design, including steelworks and civil construction.

* ATEX Equipment

Responsibilities will also include:

* Realising the designs into working shop drawings, bills of materials, installation & assembly drawings, instructions and diagrams as needed.

* Engaging the services of specialist, professional engineers where necessary.

* Generating design schemes in sufficient detail for shop drawings to be produced and components to be manufactured, whether in-house or to sub-contract specialist manufacturers, and the subsequent management of these tasks in support of the Project Manager.

* Sourcing of cost effective components, materials, vendors and manufacturing processes to ensure design is 'fit for purpose' and that all applicable standards and codes of practice are complied with; including material capabilities, availability, manufacturing and erection capacities.

* Component selection (mechanical and electromechanical systems) as above.

* Produce designs and photo realistic renderings of new equipment for the Proposals and Sales departments in a form ready for inclusion into the bid documents and in a timely manner.
