Job purpose

You will assist with the provision of a clear, consistent and timely flow of information to the employees, incoming employees and the Authority.

Supporting the Programme Director, you will ensure there are sufficient and appropriate channels for communicating, monitor the usage and effectiveness of those channels, and create clear messaging that can easily be understood by the audience.

Additionally, you will provide support to the team's Marketing Communications activities as required.

Main responsibilities

* Ensure delivery of regular, consistent and accurate communications.

* Create and provide appropriate communications materials and content.

* Manage the population and delivery of internal communications channels

* Measure the impact of outgoing communications, where metrics or feedback are available, and help to continually assess effectiveness of channels and messaging.

* Work closely with colleagues within Marketing and Communications to ensure that key external and internal messages are aligned and that the brand and tone of voice is reinforced in the style and content of marketing communications.

* Ensure flow of information to Head of Marketing and Communications on key issues, including aiding production of monthly report.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

* Proven experience and knowledge of internal communications.

* Clear understanding of the role of internal communications in supporting change and achievement of business objectives.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to draft and edit copy, originate and refine messages and deploy a range of styles, tools and techniques appropriate to the audience and specific communication objective.

* Excellent attention to detail.

* Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and easily-understood internal communications.

* Effective interpersonal skills with people at all levels, including ability to use tact, diplomacy and persuasiveness.

* Excellent project management and organisational skills.

* Ability to deal with a demanding workload which may include considerable correspondence and to prioritise accordingly.

* Ability to work on own initiative and as a member of a team.
